Milstead Auto had been running digital marketing for years but had no reliable data. Their GA setup was broken, GTM was misconfigured, and the site was so slow (PageSpeed 28) that users were bouncing before any tracking could fire. They were making marketing decisions based on incomplete and inaccurate data.

The approach

I started with a complete audit of their tracking infrastructure. Every GA4 event, every GTM tag, every conversion action. I documented what was firing, what was missing, and what was double-counting. The audit revealed that over 40% of their conversion data was inaccurate.

I rebuilt the entire tracking stack from zero. New GA4 property with clean event taxonomy, new GTM container with proper trigger logic, and server-side tracking for the most critical conversion events. I also addressed the PageSpeed issues: removing bloated scripts, optimising image loading, and cleaning up the tag firing sequence.
