Acquisition alongside the work of leading a team
At KPI6 I led a three-person marketing team. My responsibilities included SEO, paid acquisition, HubSpot optimisation and performance reporting across a multilingual website. This combined channel delivery with deciding where the team should put its effort.
Planning around the available team and investment
My working notes from the period considered expectations, team strengths, budget limits, customer understanding, positioning and demand generation. They are a useful record of the questions I was trying to organise.
Many entries were explicitly plans or to-dos. I distinguish those from completed initiatives: a proposed interview programme, event or lead target is not evidence that it happened or produced a result.
My contribution
The role connected acquisition activity, HubSpot and reporting with responsibility for the marketing team. The relevant work included:
- SEO and paid acquisition across three languages.
- HubSpot optimisation and marketing operations.
- Introducing performance reporting.
- Leading three marketers and clarifying priorities.
How I present the outcome
I keep responsibility, delivered work and measured outcomes separate. Rather than publish growth percentages without their baseline, comparison window and lead definition, this account focuses on the work I can describe accurately.
For a new team, I would start by agreeing the available capacity, the intended commercial outcome and what evidence should change the next priority.
