Practical steps for identifying Italian B2B buyers, preparing relevant evidence, and following up with a clear next step. The aim is a small, inspectable plan that your team can improve as evidence arrives.

Understand the account before the channel

Start with the account’s operating context: what it sells, who it serves, and where your product might remove a specific problem. Avoid using nationality as a substitute for discovery. A manufacturing company, a software business, and a public buyer can have very different requirements. Ask how the purchase would be evaluated and which people need to be involved.

Bring evidence that travels

Prepare a relevant example of the problem, the work performed, and the outcome. State the context and your role. A case from another country can be useful when the underlying operation is similar. Explain the connection rather than assuming a familiar logo proves product fit. Where you lack evidence, propose a limited test with an agreed evaluation method.

Make language a practical decision

Ask which language the buying team uses for evaluation, internal discussion, and implementation. Ensure your material can be shared with colleagues who did not attend the call. Review terminology with someone who understands the industry. Technical accuracy and a clear description of the next step matter more than translating every page at once.

Follow up on the decision

End each conversation with a named owner, a next action, and the information needed to progress. Send a short summary that the buyer can correct. Track reasons for delay instead of assuming all Italian businesses buy at the same speed. If there is no active project, agree an appropriate way to stay in touch rather than continuing an automated sequence indefinitely.

Turn the guide into a working document

Write down the audience, the decision you are testing, the evidence you have, and the person responsible for the next action. Add a review date appropriate to the sales cycle. Treat any budget or timeline as a planning assumption until your own results support it.

For a practical companion, use the Italy market-entry checklist or the campaign-to-pipeline reporting framework. You can also read about my work or get in touch.
